Yamato "Matt" Ishida
Yamato is Taichi's best friend, but also his favorite rival. The two often argue and fight with each other, mostly because of the contrast in their own ways of thinking, but they always make amends. Their Digimon often help them see eye to eye.

Koushirou "Izzy" Izumi
In contrast to Yamato, Koushirou does not fight back with Taichi, no matter how much Taichi angers him. He and Taichi are also very good friends, in some ways just as close as Taichi & Yamato are. When Diaboramon attacked, Koushirou was the only one with Taichi during the crisis.
